"Animorphology" Paintings by Robert Fayze Pellicer ![]() In August, Vorpal Space will present "Animorphology" a series of paintings by Robert Fayze Pellicer, a recent arrival to Portland. Animorphology is that rare show of modern surrealist painting which is both beautiful and political. In these paintings Robert Pellicer explores the fragmentation, subjugation, and commodifiction of animals -- both in terms of their bodies and in terms of their natural environments. At its core, the show is a critique of man's exploitation of the environment for monetary gain, but rarely has this message been expressed in such an elegant manner. Mr. Pellicer is new to Portland, having recently moved from from Tallahassee, Florida. While he showed his work regularly on the East Coast, this show at Vorpal Space his is his first solo show in the NorthWest. More of his work can be seen at his website: robpea.com ![]() ![]() ![]() Please direct any inquiries to david @ vorpalspace.com.
